Blackberry Bold launched in USA

In fact, Blackberry, whose forte has been the business segment until now, will now use the Bold to make forays into the mainstream power segment with multimedia features as well.

The Bold features a newly designed precision QWERTY keyboard, promising to enhance your productivity. Blackberry also jumps on the 3G bandwagon this time and the Bold features high-speed 3G. Wi-Fi had been missing in the earlier Blackberry phones and this issue has been address with support for 802.11 a/b/g.

Multimedia capabilities includes a 2 MP camera with video recording (again for the first time in a Blackberry), an advanced media player for music, pictures and multiple format videos. The screen boasts of a stunning half-VGA 480x320 resolution and has an integrated lens. There is also a GPS, if you thought that the Bold missed out on that one.

This phone supports tri-band HSDPA and quad-band EDGE, allowing you to roam around the world and stay connected. With 128 MB RAM, it has a powerful 624 MHz processor powering the famed Blackberry productivity applications such as email, messaging, organizer and browser, along with thousands of mobile business and lifestyle applications, and also the phone itself.

You can even talk on the phone while sending and receiving email, while accessing the web or while using GPS navigation. Editing Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents is child's play using the preloaded DataViz Documents to Go software suite and makes it easier than before to stay connected and be productive even on the go. Storage has been taken care of by internal 1 GB as well as a microSD/SDHC slot that can be accessed from a side door.
